Machine Description
This Giddings & Lewis 70-G5-T is a heavy-duty five-axis CNC table-type horizontal boring mill originally manufactured in 1967 and professionally remanufactured by Dayton Machine Tool Company in 1994.
The machine features a 5" diameter spindle with No. 50 taper, spindle speeds through 2,000 RPM and a 20-station automatic tool changer. Its working travels include 84" of table cross travel, 72" of vertical headstock travel, 96" of longitudinal saddle travel and 36" of spindle travel.
A programmable powered rotary table provides the additional controlled rotary axis. The machine is also equipped with a powered tailstock, vertical milling-head attachment, power drawbar, hardened ways and miscellaneous tooling.
